Very different: Trigeminal nerve is a nerve which supply muscles of the face. Trigeminal neuralgia is a shock/electric like pain affecting face. Cluster headache is mostly one sided headache occurring in clusters with pain free intervals in between. The exact etiology is not known, it is thought that it results from sudden release of serotonin and histamine triggered by some food or medicine, exertion etc.

Cluster & TN: Cluster headache is the most painful of all the primary headache disorders. Trigeminal neuralgia is a unique neuropathic pain problem. The cluster is sometimes mistaken for trigeminal neuralgia because they have similar symptoms, but also a number of differences between the two. Proper diagnosis is the key to successful treatment.
