SEIZURE RISK: The problem with wellbutrin (bupropion) and an eating disorder is primarily with anorexia. The concern is that wellbutrin (bupropion) can lower the seizure threshold and when some is anorexic they may be purging and have their electrolytes all out of whack which can lead to seizures. So there is now a double whammy for a seizure. Otherwise wellbutrin (bupropion) is a fairly safe medication with few side effects. Sr and xl safer form.

Wellbutrin (bupropion) & Eating : In eating disorders there is electrolyte imbalance & such can lower seizure threshold if wellbutrin (bupropion) at high dose is used, hence more chance of having seizures, although not very common.
