Do contraceptives help painful periods?

Often times yes: They usually makle most women have less bleeding and less period pain, but there are other meds you can take for menstual cramps - see your gyn for an exam and an ultrasound, that is what i would do if you were my patients in coral springs as there are many differnet meds you can take and also you can take continuous birth control pills so you do not get a period, I do that with many of my pts.

Absolutely.: If your periods are too painful and normal pain medicaitons do not help, see a GYN for a consultation and maybe an US to determine whether or not you have masses/fibroids, endometriosis, or adenomyosis. You may benefit from hormonal control using contraceptives like the pill/patch/ring/IUD/implant. Used continuously they can lighten or even stop your periods, thereby decreasing pain.
