A member asked:

What are the causes of chronic thrush?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fungus: Common thrush is an overgrowth of a normal oral fungus called candida albicans. It usually results from an imbalance of oral organisms secondary to antibiotic use. It can also occur in immune compromised patients. Treatment with anti fungal agents after stopping antibiotics is generally effective.
