Primary or secondary: Bleeding can occur initially when a blood vessel bursts, and may be associated with a pseudo charcot-bouchard aneurysm caused by uncontrolled hypertension. An area of thrombosis or embolism can cause damage to the local tissue and blood vessel wall and bleed secondarily. All are generically termed a hemorrhagic stroke.
