Kidney and growth: While growth hormone will not improve kidney disease and is a diabetogenic medication, we use it in children who have poor growth due to renal failure. It helps to promote longitudinal growth in such patients who would otherwise be small. The use of hgh in children with growth failure secondary to kidney failure is fda approved.
