Electrolyte problem: Diabetes insipidus occurs due to either abnormality in hormone secretion from the brain or kidney not responding to this hormone. It is very important to find out the cause as severe eletrolytes abnormalities can occur. Herbs may not be advisable, as underlying cause must be identified and treated. Some herbs can do more damage to the kidney. Please talk to your doctor before starting any medicine.

How can I help my partner who has diabetes insipidus?

Depends: You did not give the cause of the di so it is hard to tell you how to give support. If it is from head trauma a lot of support will be needed to get your partner back to normal. The same if it is due to a surgical procedure. At any rate. Find out what the doctor recommends and do all you can to be a support and be there when needed.
