Is eye surgery for a 93 y.o.?

Age: As long as patient is healthy enough for sedation, age is not a significant factor when deciding on surgical intervention. I have operated on several healthy patients over 100 years old.

Too old to see?: Age does not determine the necessity for eye surgery but does impact the outcome. Always balance potential benefit of proposed surgery and risks with age being only one of those factors. Frank discussion with doctor and family should help find common ground.
