Carpal tunnel synd.: There a re many potential causes, but by far the most common is carpal tunnel syndrome (cts). Cts is a compression of the median nerve at the wrist and many patients wake up with hand numbness. Usually initial treatment is a night spilint. If this does not work, surgery may be indicated. Thanks.
