Folate (folic acid) anemia: Folate (folic acid) and B12 are closely related in their functions. If one replaces folate (folic acid) alone in a megaloblastic anemia but not B12 also, it can lead to neurological damage -- difficulty walking, along with delusional psychosis. I found a case of this, where the patient developed capgras syndrome: the delusion that a relative had been replaced by an impostor. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15029091.
