A member asked:

Are esophageal varices fully curable?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The varices are another route of blood return to your heart due to liver scarring or blockage of the blood that should enter the liver from the GI tract. There is no good way to correct that save for liver transplantation. The problem with varices is bleeding and there are procedures done to deal with the bleeding and to minimize the risk.
