Multipossibilities : This can be pain from the hip joint, sacroiliac joint, muscular like the pyriformis, a bursitis, referred pain from a back condition like a degenerative facet joint or disc level. It could be something within the pelvis like a stone in the bladder or in the distal ureter, a GI issue, a tumor, a gynecological problem if that gender, an infection like a psoas abscess, etc.

Buttock pain: It can be due to nerve compression in the lower back or perhaps sacro-iliac joint pain/inflammation. Please find a good ortho-spine surgeon and have them evalute you, possibly with an MRI of the back and / or pelvis, depending on the physical exam... Good luck!
