More than cigs: A habit of smokeless is far worse than cigarette smoke. This is because you constantly put the tobacco in the same place and it eventually leads to dyplasia of the gum tissue which could lead to cancers. I know it takes a lot of will power but...If you can quit the smokeless you'll be far better off. And it is not a good habit to try to socialize with either.

Varies with people: Gum disease is very common and made much worse from smokeless tobacco. Oral cancer is rare but is much more common among users of smokeless tobacco.

Too Common: Gum disease is extremely common in individuals that use smokeless tobacco. Mouth cancer is uncommon generally (on the rise though), but is more common in smokeless tobacco users. Please seek help in quitting this habit. It will be tough, but your life may depend on it.. I wish you well.

Common: Gum disease is an inflammatory infective process, exacerbated by chemical irritation from tobacco. Tobacco is a carcinogen, and a more virulent one than smoking. Smokeless tobacco is a highly addictive product and an extremely dangerous one. If you have concerns, if it has been more than 6 months since your last Dental Examination, if you smoke/chew/vape/jewel/etc., please see a Dentist ASAP.
