After: Chelating agents {ie: edta, dmps, dmsa} are designed to attach to and remove elements with positively charged ions. They attached to both essential {ie: calcium} and non-essential {ie: lead} elements. If you take an oral supplement that contains minerals prior to chelation therapy, then you should expect to chelate some of the minerals that are contained within the supplement.
