Depends: If you never had problems with seeing up close there could be other causes of shortening the focal distance of the eye. I would suggest a full ophthalmological workup. Most people do not become presbyopic ( hardening of zonules of the lens) until their 40"s. If you always had problems seeing up close and were never refracted properly you could have just been born with a short eye.
