A member asked:

Is hirchsprung known as a genetic desease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: This is congenitial and chiefly due to a 46, xx, del 10 (q11.21 q21.2) karyotype in the chromosome 10 region, or at the ret proto-oncogene. Other studies located the source of the mutations to chromosome 10, but were unable to pin-point it.
