Inflamed lung spaces: This is inflammation of the walls of the little air spaces within the lungs. Most commonly the cause is a chest cold / viral infection and rarely these are serious. More troublesome are immune or mechanical problems that create a longstanding alveolitis, sometimes leading to scarring and serious breathing problems.
