Unlikely: Hpv virus causes warts or papillomas, some one gets infected they will have warts, simply you get warts and can get rid of them completely by treatments. But herpes simplex infections virus stays in the body forever once you are infected.

Rare but yes...: Most outbreaks are passed during visible outbreaks. However, the HPV is a family of viruses well known for their ability to hibernate and reappear and potentially shed without visible lesions.
