Which is better for acne: a microdermabrasion treatment or a chemical peel?

Sometimes both!: Acne scarring is complex and typically requires many intervention for an optimal result. Peels and dermabrasion performed simultaneously is referred to as chemabrasion.

Peel does more!: A chemical peel will remove the top layers of skin, including living cells, thus requiring healing, and stimulating new collagen in the dermis and epithelial cells on the surface. Microdermabrasion generally removes only the topmost dead layers of skin cells, leaving the skin softer but not requiring healing. Laser resurfacing and surgical dermabrasion also remove living tissue and yield results!
