Varicose veins: Varicoceles are a collection of varicose veins in the spermatic cord. They don't go away on their own, they just fluctuate in size depending on your level of activity and size of the veins. On occasion they may require a procedure or surgery to remove them.

May be...: Successful surgical transection and ligation of spermatic veins will theoretically collapse varicocele right away and the varicocele residual tisssue mass will drastically decrease, but still palpable. But surgery-related pain and swelling may last longer. How much and how fast the pos-surgical resolution will be? I may vary, but it's okay to wait and see as long as it gets better slowly.
