Cat allergy meds: Since you call this minor, otc meds should be sufficient to control the symptoms. You can find generics for zyrtec, Allegra and Claritin antihistamines in every grocery store, and take one of them before you are exposed to the cat. For eye symptoms, zaditor and generics are good, for a nose spray, try nasalcrom. At bedtime, you could use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or chlortrimeton antihistamines to help you sleep.
