PERHAPS?!: There is a listing of possible side effects of Acyclovir including some mental effects. I have never had a patient experience this. What is the dose? What do you take it for? Go to the treating physician and bring this to their attention.

Talk to your doctor!: In addition to anxiety, I am aware of case reports of mania in individuals on acyclovir. It is very rare as are cases of neurotoxicity in the elderly with the medication. It is not clear that the Acyclovir is involved in your complaint, but it is possible. Do you or anyone in your family have a history of bipolar disorder?
