Chalazion: It's a small sore bump within the eyelid generally caused by a blocked oil gland. To help it resolve you may apply warm compresses a few times daily to encourage it to drain spontaneously; but please resist the urge to "pop" it or pick at it. An antibiotic may be prescribed for this by a physician. If it is very large and painful or lasts for weeks, an opthalmologist may surgically remove it.

Stye resultant: A chalazion is a cystic lesion which represents the end point of the eyelids battle with a stye. If it cannot eliminate the stye, it surrounds it with a wall and everything quiets down - leaving a lump. This can sometimes spontaneously disappear, may respond to heat but can also be injected with steroid or removed in a minor surgical office procedure.
