Depends: Women use acupuncture to manage stress. When stress levels are high, some women do not ovulate like they should do the stress. Thus, acupuncture indirectly helps reduce the physical effects of stress, thereby allowing women to ovulate normally. Do it regularly to see a result.

Yes: Acupuncture and chinese medicine can regulate the body and balance hormones that then lead to ovulation as a normal function. Yes you will need regular treatments to see results. One treatment will not be enough.

Another answer: You may be amused how many answers you are getting ! there is some evidence that accupuncture may affect ovulation. There is precious little evidence, it's inconcsistent, and of varying credibility, but accupuncture 'may' have an effect. No one has shown clearly accupuncture improves fertility. Does that make it valid therapy? You decide, based on how strongly you want to be convinced.

See article: Please do review the article that dr franz recommended: (http://www.Ncbi.Nim.Nih.Gov/pubmed/22811747) . It describes a meta-analysis done by the institute of integrated traditional chinese and western medicine that demonstrated improved outcomes when acupuncture is used in conjunction with ivf.
