Not normal: First i would like to know if you have been to a optometrist or ophthalmologist to determine if you have good vision or if you require corrected lenses. If an eye doctor ruled out eye strain and retinal causes of eye pain, i would go for a brain MRI to determine causes of eye pain. If eye exam, eye pressure test, retinal exam, and brain MRI are all normal, i would then order a sinus survey ct

No: Pain behind the eye is most commonly caused by sinusitis. But if you have no sinus symptoms, your doctor should investigate the cause of the pain with a ct scan or at least an ophthalmology consultation.
