Tendinosis: The lateral epicondyle of the elbow is the bony origin for muscles that extend the wrist. The medial epicondyle for muscles that flex the wrist. Lateral epicondylitis is also know as tennis elbow and medial is known as golfer's elbow. Repetitive movements in both of these activities and other occupational/recreational activities cause a chronic tendinosis of the respective myotendinous group.

The tennis elbow: It is called tennis elbow because many tennis players suffer this condition due to overusing it swinging the racquet--the backhand stroke. Trauma to the area either acutely or chronically can cause this infliction which can be quite painful. Good range of motion, stretching, use of elbow-strap, avoid the "traumatic activities", motrin/aleve may help. If not better, consult doc. Good luck.

Overuse: Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) or medial (golfer's elbow) are common overuse injuries to the elbow. In order to treat the pain, i recommend you start with rice, follow with stretching/ strengthening (therapy), & consider couterforce bracing. If these treatments fail you may be a candidate for cortisone or prp injections. Some people end up needing surgery... <a href="<a href="http://drmar.
