Yes and Later on: Yes you should still go and see your doctor to evaluate the pain in your eye. You may have a corneal abrasion. I would hold off on wearing contacts until after you have been seen to ensure healing has occurred if there was a real injury.

Yes: Might have had a small corneal abrasion if pain is persisting, then should be examined to rule out corneal infection. Sounds like poor contact lens hygiene and prolonged wear if really sticking to the eye (like sleeping in them, which is not recommended).
