Botox injection: In the hands of a physician skilled in the use of botox, only the muscles involved in the spasmodic torticollis [ see "head positions" at http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/spasmodic_torticollis] should be affected; the muscles involved in swallowing will not be involved [see text & pics at http://www.Walgreens.Com/adamhtml/bodyguides/reftext/html/dige_sys_fin.Html.

Yes: Botox will be injected into the sternocleidomastoid muscle which is important in turning your head from side to side, but not involved in swallowing. If injected properly you should have no increased effects to your swallowing. You should have that problem addressed though with either endoscopy or barium swallow test.

Possibly : You are the only one that can decide if this is the treatment for you. Dysphagia is a possible side effect. From someone that works with Botox and treats people with swallowing problems i can tell you that in the hands of an experienced injector serious side effects (like dysphagia) are rare.
