Fluid: I tell my patients think of gravity. When you on feet all day gravity pulls fluid out. If when you go to bed and put your feet up and the feet go back to normal size its prob ok. If they dont go back down, or chest pain or shortness of breath you probably want to see your provider.

Gravity: Will naturally allow all fluid to south. If everyone stood for long periods of time usually there is some degree of swelling. The trick is to move around so the muscles can help pump fluids back up. Try and sit or raise legs every so often. This is also assuming you have no varicose veins and no other causes. Excessive salt intake, side effects of medications, unsupportive shoes, flatfeet can also.
