2-3 months: Accutane or Isotretinoin is one of the most effective medication we have for acne. It is dosed based on your weight and taken as a 5-6 month course. I usually see improvement in my patients at 2 months. Don't be discouraged if it takes you longer to respond. There are some potential side effects while taking Accutane so followup closely with your doctor.
