It doesn't ...: Pcos itself shouldn't cause acid reflux or digestive issues. Metformin (glucophage) may be used for treatment of pcos and can cause nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. We try to reduce these side effects by using extended-release tablets, starting at a low dose (500 mg a day) and by increasing slowly over 3-4 weeks. Some can't tolerate metformin. Some with pcos are overweight which increases acid reflux.
