A member asked:

I am a week late on my period can my thyroid medicine cause me to be late? i'm not pregnant i took a home test and it said negative

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It should not if..: Thyroid disease either functioning too low or high can affect your menstrual cycle and pregnancy. If you are on an appropriate dose of the thyroid medicine (regulated and checked by doc/lab), it is not likely to be blamed. It could be that you are pregnant but the hpt failed to detect it--maybe too early. Recheck in 3-5 days and if still neg, likely then is neg. Consult doc. Good luck.
