For some women: A woman's body experiences changes in hormone levels throughout her cycle, so some develop nausea before their periods. The nausea can be due to the changing levels of estrogen or progesterone. If a woman has nausea and misses her period, she can do a urine pregnancy test a week later to see if she is pregnant. If symptoms are worrisome, the doctor should evaluate.
