A member asked:

My doctor prescribed me methylcobalamin injections after every 2 weeks to counter some fatigue or energy side effects of prozac (fluoxetine).is this any help?

Probably not: Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin b12. It is useful for treating vitamin B12 deficiency, which can cause fatigue symptoms. However, there are many other causes of fatigue and low energy, including depression (is that why you're taking prozac (fluoxetine)?). Prozac (fluoxetine) itself may cause fatigue and low energy, although it usually doesn't. Methylcobalamin probably won't help that.

Agree with Dr. R: If you are not deficient in vitamin B12, injections of this vitamin will not do you any good. Even if you were deficient, by now you should be fully replenished.
