Is it normal for a scar to be itchy after 7 years?

No: To provide a better answer to your question, more information is needed. Do you just what an answer without treatment? If not, what was the cause of your wound? Did you have stitches? Did you develop excessive scar formation? Have you spoken to your doctor about using steroid creams? Have you already tried non-sedating anti-histamines (such as loratidine) to see if it suppresses the itch?

Common, not normal: Its very common for scars to itch, even remote from the surgical procedure. Cocoa butter lotion works well for unknown reasons.
