Good start: I would first stop typing or take more frequent breaks (20 mins. On followed by 20 mins off). Also, over the counter meds such as advil or Aleve (naproxen) can be helpful as can icing. If the pain persists or worsens, then have it evaluated by your regular doc or a hand surgeon.

Very unusual: To have one knuckle swollen when you type with all fingers sounds very unusual. The general rule is rest, ice, gentle non-constricting compression and elevation for 3-4 days. If symptoms get worse or don't resolve, you will need further evaluation.
