Take a HSG test: A hysterosalpingogram or hsg test is an x-ray dye test that makes sure that both fallopian tubes are open and look normal. It also checks for an abnormal-shaped uterus, for polyps, fibroids or scar tissue inside the uterus, and for scar tissue around the fallopian tubes. Ultrasound scans with contrast can also check for at least one open tube, but it's not as good a test as a hsg.
