A member asked:

Should i be concerned that my baby only has two cord vessels?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes & no: A two vessel cord can present in a child that has other congenital anomalies or a chromosome defect. About 1/2 to 1/100 births have this finding and about 1/3 have other obvious problems. Some recommend a renal ultrasound be done to look for kidney defects if nothing is suspicious on exam. I've seen many over the years & never had a problem show up that wasn't evident on initial exam.
