Acute bronchitis.: Acute bronchitis is a viral infection heralded by a cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, sweats, and perhaps some diffuse chest discomfort that increases with inspiration. Chest X-Ray may not always show acute bronchitis, so it's mainly a clinical diagnosis.

Bronchitis: As most people would complain is when they cough discolored phlegm (yellow or green) and complain of feverish feeling, heaviness in chest and there are sounds of turbulence of airflow heard in the lungs due to the inflammations in the airways. If that happens 3 months of the year for 2 years in a row, then there is chronic bronchitis.
