Too early: Not sure what month your cycle began in but if it was on the eighth of this month and it is the 22nd now then it is too early to check a pregnancy test.Most pregnancy tests are positive within a week of missing your cycle. I would wait until cycle is due and check a pregnancy test a week later. If the pregnancy test is negative then wait three days and check another one.

Too soon to know: Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
