Rotator cuff: Based on your age and symptoms in one arm this sounds like rotator cuff. Probably need a trial of physical therapy for strengthening and mobility and non steroidal anti inflammatory meds if not contraindicated.

Adhesive capsulitis?: While i agree in part with the first answer, other quite possible conditions include adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) and subacromial bursitis. Also acromio-clavicular joint arthritis is possible. I always inject with corticosteroids first. If your motion and pain return to normal, great. If not, the more expensive options (MRI) would be considered. Finally, did the onset occur quickly?
