Worrisome Rash: If you feel sick in association with your rash (nausea, vomiting, fever, joint pains etc), you are best evaluated in person by a dermatologist. Further, blistering rashes or a rash that looks like blood under the skin (does not disappear with pressure) should be seen urgently. Lastly, any rash that causes great concern to you, persists or is causing discomfort should be evaluated.

Duration & Symptoms: A rash that has no symptoms (itching, burning, pain, fevers, swelling, etc.) and is only present for a short time will usually resolve without incident. If a rash has associated symptoms and or it has been present for longer than a few days, it is best to have it evaluated. However, there are instances where an asymptomatic rash can be a serious problem. See a doctor to help you with this.
