A member asked:

Why would my middle finger itch occasionally? its normally on the side, and i have had it for a couple of years. no rash or anything

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Histamine there?: Itchy spots that have no texture change or visible skin change until itching and scratching begin, may have some extra-sensitive nerve endings there (that send itchiness signals to the brain), or have some cells there that release histamine (causes itching) for no particular reason or release histamine when the area is rubbed or scratched. A doctor can check to see if anti-itch creams can help.
