See a Gynecologist: Breakthrough bleeding may occur during the first 3 months of oral contraceptive use, but it is necessary to rule out pregnancy and other problems. Vaginal discharge/irritation/ cervical tissue changes may occur with therapy. See your gynecologist as soon as possible to rule out other problems. Also talk with your doctor about the hpv vaccine (human papillomavirus) for prevention of cervical cancer.
