What causes dizziness when walking?

Unsteadiness: If your gait is unsteady and you do not have true spinning (vertigo) you may want to see a neurologist. There are many causes of unsteadiness and you need a thorough workup by either a neurologist or a neuro-otologist. Check to see if any meds you are taking may have a side effect of gait disturbance.

Agree with Dr. J: Before getting into involved investigation make sure you drink two glasses of water before going for a walk to ensure that you are not dehydrated.
