Yes: Yes! Prednisone - short term, no! high dose or long term- yes! in rheumatology use, always side effects! Prednisone is an animal model for aging: thin skin, thin hair, a belly, muscle loss, etc. Mimcs metabolic syndrome!

Possibly: Prednisone can inhibit the conversion of the precursor hormone T4 to the active thyroid hormone t3 (liothyronine). Over time this could cause a functional hypothyroid state. Hypothyroidism can cause hair loss.
