Is it possible to completely resect a glioblastoma multiforme?

Gbm: Yes but location and neurological compromise in most cases didn't allow that.

Yes by MRI criteria: It is possible to surgically resect all of the MRI evidence of gbm. However, this is an infiltrative disease and there are satellites or "fingers" of tumor cells that are present even up to 5 cm from the edge of the MRI enhancement. That is why these are so difficult to cure. These seeds of the gbm resist the radiation and chemo and start to grow a year or two after the initial treatment.
