Neck problem: Moist heat, stretching exercises to neck & shoulder muscles; use NSAID like aleve/advil/ etc (if you can take them) for pain & inflammation. If more needed, see osteopathic physician for muscle relaxer, soft tissue techniques, & possible neck manipulation. Prevention: take breaks from work to stretch neck muscles & relax. Therapeutic massage is beneficial, too.

Call the cops! : Most just get better with time but heat applications, gentle stretching while taking a hot shower, avoiding prolonged positioning as well as restricting some aggravating activities can help. Using a small pillow instead of several or one large one as well as usingtylenol or anti-inflammatories like Naproxen or ibuprophen can help as long as no Aspirin allergy, ulcer hx or use of blood thinners.
