Hydrate: Sunburned skin should be hydrated, and lotion is a good way to to keep the skin moisturized. You can also use aloe gel to cool the skin.

Remedies: I agree with dr. Baez. Use cool compresses to reduce heat. Aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) can reduce redness, pain, itching & swelling from a burn. It has anesthetic, anti-inflammatory & antibacterial / antifungal qualities. It can speed burn healing by stimulating growth of new skin. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories &acetomenophen can be very helpful. Hydrate well and don't peel off deep skin.
