A member asked:

How long is the average human intestinal tract?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About 30 feet: Of course, GI length varies based on age, prior inflammatory condtions, surgeries, and drug use (irritant laxatives often result in a floppy, elongated colon), as well as body size. That 30 feet i mentioned above includes between 14-20 feet of small intestine and 5-6 feet of large intestine (colon) but the internal surface area is enormous due to multiple folds as well as microscopic vili.
